TNSE — Economics at The New School A three-part institutional and intellectual history of The New School’s economics department from its 1919 founding to the present. Part 1 (121 pages drafted) covers 1919–1933. Parts 2 and 3 extend the history to 1960 and include an oral history component with 84 structured interviews.
Research Empirical work on public finance, tax revenue cyclicality, historical balance-of-payments data, and a replication and extension of the empirical data in Anwar Shaikh’s Capitalism (2016). Includes original figures built from U.S. Treasury and BEA data.
